Our Story

Ben and Sarah Lawson have been married for 18 years and have 3 boys, aged 13, 10 and 7 years old. They have lived in Narrabeen their whole lives and love the great outdoors. As a family, they have always enjoyed any outdoor recreational activity to do with water, like going fishing, boating, and/or surfing. In particular, utilising Narrabeen Lagoon to go exploring in their tinnie, discovering what this lake has to offer and creating family memories.
 
In 2019, they decided to travel around Australia @travelling_around_oz with family adventuring in mind. As part of their set up, they had a 12ft Savage tinnie with an 8hsp Yamaha outboard. Boating became a daily activity, exploring the many beautiful waterways that span over this amazing Country of ours. Having a tinnie, took them to places that most may not have been able to reach. Fishing was always an activity that they all undertook, always catching a daily feed.

Since returning to Narrabeen in 2021, the Lawson family had an idea- to offer the community a similar experience. On their trip, they learnt to appreciate the simple things in life- boating being one of them. Their love of boating and their love of the lagoon, created Narrabeen Boat Hire. It is now a great opportunity for locals and tourists alike, to enjoy on your own and/or with family and friends, and to really slow down, share in the moment, and to BE in the great outdoors.

The Friendly Team of Narrabeen Boat Hire

Narrabeen Boat Hire was started by The Lawson Family to provide a range of outdoor recreational activities to be enjoyed by all ages. Bringing 23 years of local and professional experience and qualifications, the team at Narrabeen Boat Hire has vital consideration for your safety and is dedicated to providing invaluable insights and creating unforgettable experiences.

(Senior First Aid Certificate; General Boat Driving Licence; Coxswain Grade 2 Certificate)

They both love the water and have spent most of their lives in or on the water. Owning a boat and a tinnie has meant many days spent relaxing, swimming and/or fishing. Their love of eating seafood has always been one of many motivational factors.

Kale Lawson (13), Jye Lawson (10) and Taje Lawson (7) are also known as the @young_saltys

These three Brothers along with the support of their Father Ben, have grown up to be young sea riders in North Narrabeen, NSW. Their love of boating and fishing became a daily activity, on their recent 16month trip @travelling_around_oz
